Wessington u3a is part of the National u3a network and has been active since 2009. We offer a wide range of activities and interest groups that are run by our members for our members, but everyone is encouraged to take an active part in all activities and events. Our regular monthly meeting takes place at North Biddick Social Club on Bonemill Lane, Washington generally on the third Monday of the month at 1pm with doors opening at 12.30pm. The meetings include talks, discussions and activities on wide range of topics. This is also an opportunity to catch up with news about what's happening in Wessington u3a and also to chat with other members...
Membership
Our membership runs from April each year with and annual fee (currently £13). Attendance at our main monthly meetings is free. Additional costs for interest groups may occur depending on the nature of the activity.
Payment for membership subscription either by BACS direct debit or via a cheque to our Membership Secretary.
As we use the North Biddick Social Club for Monthly meetings and other activities membership of the club is required. This needs to be renewed in January every year. Cost of £2. If your card is misplaced/lost there will be a of £3 to replace it - please contact Peter Welsh.
North Biddick Social Club is situated on Bonemill Lane on the north side of the River Wear in close proximity to Fatfield Bridge. The club has various function rooms, including a large concert hall, lounge and bar, pool room and a restaurant which Wessington u3a members can enjoy all the facilities as part of their club membership.
