Routes of Social Change - Pop up group
Monthly usually Friday at Arts Centre Washington, 12-2pm
Five members of the Wessington u3a are participating in a Workers Education Association project called Routes of Social Change. We have researched and prepared a walk in the area.
We meet once a month at Arts Centre Washington, usually a Friday 12-2 to have a presentation about aspects of research – this month it was using maps – and to discuss what we are doing.
The walk may well be ready to become part of Washington 60 but the project is intended go on beyond that, into 2025.
The walk is from St George’s Church to Cox Green and then (including a short swim where the south bankside has fallen into the river) back to Fatfield Bridge. It is a heritage/history walk.
Date of next activity: 6th November 2024, 2.30-3.30pm. Where 1719 Heritage Centre, Church Street East, SR1 2BB - Pete Welsh talking about the Victoria Viaduct - illustrated.
